Kristi Capindica Years ago, I can remember seeing the video of this brave young man and the love of his life helping him walk to get his diploma. Then, I read the back story and it was so heartwarming. I thanked God for all I have and thanked God for them. They hadn’t given up no matter how difficult things were. Fast forward to 2019 and I’m again reminded of this amazing young couple. I read their book and have had to wipe my eyes a few times. The raw emotion brings you right into their lives. They were such an encouragement already, and now they’re loving all of these kids from various living situations who haven’t known pure parental love until they met Chris and Emily. I really enjoyed this book and I’d recommend it for anyone who thinks they have it tough. The 7 Longest Yards is outstanding and definitely deserves to find a place in your home and heart, just like the kids in the Norton household.
Without question, The Seven Longest Yards is one of the best books I’ve ever read on overcoming hardship and the unexpected in life. Seriously. I laughed. I cried. I fist-pumped a lot while reading this incredible and very encouraging book by Chris and Emily Norton.
This phenomenal story shows how mindset over situation matters. I already was familiar with a lot of the story from following Chris and Emily on social media, but there was still new information included. It is a quick read, but well worth it.
This book is a must read! It’s a love story about a young couple that overcame so many obstacles. Chris with his football injury and Emily with her depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Emily and Chris have such a strong faith, strong determination, and positive attitude. They also have such a huge love for the lord.A few favorite parts of the book are when Chris is In the helicopter having troubles breathing. He changed his focus on what he could do, he was then able to breathe better. His attitude had the power to change reality. I also loved the advice his dad gave him. “If you don’t like where you are, then do something about itâ€. Change it!This book will make you laugh and cry! It will also remind you what is important in your life. With HOPE anything is possible.
